It was a strong showing for the Boston Celtics Monday night. With the newly Kyrie Irving and Gordon Hayward making their team debuts, Boston came out with poise on offense and made some great defensive plays as well.
Irving played just 19 minutes in this game, but had some nice plays for Boston. In the first quarter Irving dunked twice, which is the total he had all of last season. He also had two steals, four rebounds, and three assists.
Hayward scored five points and grabbed five rebounds in his team debut.
Dwight Howard also made his team debut for the Charlotte Hornets. He would have a solid 22 minutes of action scoring 7 points and grabbing 10 rebounds. The Hornets would have a great game from Jeremy Lamb, who led all scorers with 17 points in 19 minutes.
Boston would defeat Charlotte 94-82 for their first preseason victory.
